I recently just got back from a mini vacation with my family in Clearwater outside of Tampa. Before I begin to boast about how nice it was, I'll explain why I chose Clearwater. I was treating my grandmother and a family member to a mini vacation so I wanted something that wasn't filled with children or drunk young adults. Clearwater was the perfect mixture of age groups. We stayed at the Hilton Clearwater resort which had a balcony overlooking the harbor and beach front. The beach as literally outside the pool area of the hotel. While the beach chairs cost to rent, you could just buy something from the bar and sit at the tables closest to the pool or bring your beach towels close to the shore and settle in the sand. The beach is very spread out and not crowded unlike South Beach and there's a bunch of mom and pop restaurants and shops right outside the hotel. While everything is walking distance, there's also a trolley that will take you from North Beach to South

  Since I'm new to the blog life, I might do a little recap on my past experiences. Last summer, I did study abroad in Costa Rica and had the opportunity to explore on our downtime. Some girls and I went to Uvita, Costa Rica. While we had A LOTTT of mishaps just trying to get to this place, we did eventually make it and it was beautiful. This area has a lot of expats but its a underdeveloped beach town. It's a little more expensive because it is a little more Americanized but most of the Pacific Coast is. If you want something a little more ethnic, I heard the Caribbean Coast is the best place for it. I personally didn't have the opportunity to go since we were traveling locally and mainly underdeveloped but if you have transportation, I'm sure its worth it. The best experience about being on the Pacific Coast was watching the sunset. It's definitely something I wouldn't trade for the world.     Pura Vida

It feels like you finally made it at the Top of the Rock.

Unlike most college students, I decided to stay up north for spring break and avoid the crowds in Florida. While I can go on and on about my experience getting stuck in a blizzard for spring break, I rather share the good times. So, should you stay in Brooklyn or Manhattan? When I travel, I try to blend in as much as possible and I definitely believe that I accomplished that in Brooklyn.  The last time I stayed in Manhattan, I was in the Tribeca neighborhood. Don't get me wrong, I love Manhattan but I definitely feel like lower Manhattan isn't for people who like to sleep at night. Construction, garbage pickup all at 1am in the morning. The closest subway was a 12 minute walk. Of course there's hotels closer but I was at the  CONRAD!!! ...It was worth the walk. Brooklyn on the other hand, has a different type of energy. Amongst all my family and friends, I'm the local travel agent. While I do love the luxury of traveling, i also enjoy the stress on planning a trip. While there's plenty of ways to save while planning a trip and many of them you might already be familiar with; these are my personally "GO-TO's" when I'm planning a mini vacation on a student budget. USE GOOGLE. Especially if you have an android or use Google Chrome. If I'm flying, i always look at the charts, and data calendar to see when is the best times to travel. You can also set updates to alert you when the price changes. Become a Member. For the longest time, i was a die-hard Expedia user. I booked all my flights through them and earned points for it. Unlike Hotels, you can double on points if you're an member with that travel site and earn point through the airline. Since this is my first post, ill introduce myself and the goal of my blog page. I'm a full time student from Detroit. I work 2 jobs with one enabling me to travel quite a bit. I'm 23 years old graduating this winter in Urban Studies with an minor in Global Studies. I'm going back for my certification in Clinical Lab Science and i have an Associates degree in Liberal Arts with my focus being Photography. My goal for this blog is to share my interest from my own city to other cities and countries that i have been to. This blog might cover anything from; school, travel, fashion, popular events in the city. This blog should just be fun, girly, and just expressing my general interest.
